Deputy Head of the Dagestani National Bank Shamil Abuyev denies media reports about a recent police raid on the republic's banks that has allegedly started in Dagestan.
According to Russian media, the police operation has led to the recent resignation of the National Bank's head, Sirazhutdin Ilyasov.
"The reports saying that the resignation of the National Bank's chairman was somehow connected with these scandals are not true. There is no police operation against the republic's banks," Abuyev says.
