Baku to host conference on EU – South Caucasus cooperation

 

Baku will host a conference to discuss security integration of the EU and Azerbaijan, organized by the Azerbaijani Presidential Center for Strategic Studies and the European Center for Politics. Farhad Mamedov, director of the presidential center, noted that the EU was activating in South Caucasus, Trend reports.

Hans Martens, executive director of the European center, emphasized that economic growth in European countries had started increasing two years after the crisis.

Roland Kobia, head of the EU office in Azerbaijan, Vaidotas Verba, Lithuanian Ambassador, Gursel Aliyev, regional director of the Caucasus Research Center, and Zaur Shiriyev, editor-in-chief of the Mezhdunarodny Kavkaz journal will present reports on rapprochement of South Caucasus and the EU.

Matthew Bryza, director of the International Center for Defense Studies in Tallinn, Victors Makarovs, Latvian Parliamentary Secretary, Amanda Paul, an expert of the European Center for Politics, Gulshan Pashayeva, deputy director of the Azerbaijani Presidential Center for Strategic Studies will present reports on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
