A session of the Supreme Military Council, chaired by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, started today in Turkey, TRT reports.
The issues of promotions and retirement of army higher command staff, as well as other questions of discipline, are on the agenda. The members of the Supreme Military Council are also due to visit the mausoleum of Atatürk.
The results of the meeting will be announced by Turkish President Abdullah Gül on the 4th of August.
