Moscow is hosting the founding congress of the Russian People’s Front to transform the organization into a movement with a program. The program includes discussions between experts and political analysts to compose a charter for the organization, develop its structure, system of authority and declarations for members, RIA Novosti reports.
Lyudmila Shvetsova, a member of the front’s organization committee, proposed appointment of Russian President Vladimir Putin as the leader of the movement. She added that Stanislav Govorukhin and Olga Timofeyeva may become two of the three co-chairs of the headquarters.
MP Vyacheslav Lysakov proposed renaming the organization into People’s Front – For Russia.
Dmitry Badovsky, director of the Institute for Economic and Psychological Studies, told about formation of the Center for Assistance of the front. One of the ideas of the front is to keep the public and the president in contact with each other all year round. It will resemble a social network operating 24/7.
