Syrian rebels ask for masses of ammunition

Commander of Syrian rebels Salim Idris has requested France, UK and US to send him anti-tank missiles, anti-air missiles and hundreds of thousands of units of ammunition, Interfax reports.

The rebels will need 200 Konkurs missiles, 100 mobile anti-air missiles, 300,000 AK bullets, 50,000 machine-gun bullets and 100,000 bullets for other weapons.

Syrian opposition has also asked the countries to set the no-fly zone. The rebels have suffered serious casualties at Quseir on the border of Lebanon.

Washington will decide whether to help the rebels or not this week.

The EU lifted the embargo on shipments of weapons to Syria in late May.
