Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has arrived in Uzbekistan at the invitation of his Uzbek counterpart Islam Karimov. Karimov personally met Nazarbayev, arriving on an official visit, at Tashkent airport.
According to official Uzbek media, the summit will be a platform for the traditionally friendly and trusting discussion of issues of bilateral and regional relations. The Presidents will also address the problems of humanitarian cooperation.
The main activities of the official visit will take place tomorrow, on June 14. The outcome of the meeting should be the signing of a Treaty on Strategic Partnership and other bilateral documents that will facilitate the development of mutually beneficial Kazakh-Uzbek partnership relations.
