New Iranian president demands respect of Islamic Republic

 

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has thanked his voters and promised to be a faithful servant of his people, ITAR-TASS reports.

He noted that the presidential polls brought new opportunities. He added that countries protecting democracy should respect the Islamic Republic, Interfax reports.

Rouhani called his victory a triumph of moderation over extremism and promised to change the foreign policy, Reuters reports.

The new presidents wants to improve dialogue with each of the six mediators of the Iranian nuclear program, including the US, Al-Hayat reports.
