US, Russian and French presidents call on Azerbaijan and Armenia to resolve Karabakh conflict

US President Barack Obama, Russian President Vladimir Putin and French President François Hollande issued today a joint statement calling on Azerbaijan and Armenia to increase their efforts to resolve the conflict over Nagorno-Karabkh.

"We deplore the fact that the parties are not ready for a compromise solution and are acting only in their own interests," RIA Novosti quotes the statement as saying.

"We believe that further delay in signing an agreement is unacceptable and we call on the presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia to increase their efforts to solve the existing problems," the statement reads.
