Putin says Russia won't reduce nuclear arms

Russian President Vladimir Putin says Russia is not ready to reduce the number of its nuclear arms. He also says rocketry and space exploration are the main spheres of development of the Russian defense industry.

The statement was made immediately after US President Barack Obama suggested reducing the number of Russian and US nuclear arms. 

Cutting nuclear arms was one of the aims of former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev's policy. He still calls for such a move and believes that the nuclear threat is the major one that humanity is experiencing.
