New president of Russian Central Bank and minister for economic development appointed

 

Elvira Nabiulina has replaced Sergey Ignatyev as President of the Russian Central Bank.

She was introduced for the office by Russian President Vladimir Putin in March and approved by the parliament in April.

Alexey Ulyukayev, ex-Deputy President of the Central Bank, replaced Andrey Belousov as the Minister for Economic Development on June 24, 2013. Belousov was minister for only a month and became a presidential advisor.
