The closure of a Turkish college in Abkhazia has seen parents of the students send letters to the president of the republic, Sergey Bagapsh, Parliamentary Speaker Nugzar Ashuba and Prime Minister Sergey Shamba, reports RIA-Novosti. Turkey announced the closure of the college on July 23, due to financial difficulties. Students had already enrolled.Indira Vardania, the minister of education, said the college, founded in 1995, was closed by the director, and not the Abkhazian authorities.
