Secretary general of Georgia’s United National Movement apologizes for tortures

 

Vano Merabishvili, Secretary General of the United National Movement, Georgian ex-Minister of Interior Affairs and ex-Prime Minister, has apologized for torture and violence against police officers, Interfax reports.

He said that recently discovered videos of tortures casted doubts on success of the reforms initiated at the Interior Ministry. Merabishvili added that people responsible for the tortures should be punished.
