Russian President Vladimir Putin approved the amnesty of businessmen sentenced for economic crimes yesterday. Businessmen may be released if they return property or compensate damage, RIA Novosti reports.
Irina Yarovaya, head of the parliamentary committee for security, said that businessmen responsible for violence and threats and thefts of budget funds will not be pardoned. She added that every crime was unique and the initiative will be under further discussions. The parliament plans to pass the bill on amnesty on July 2.
