Chinese Foreign Ministry: China is against Iran transforming into a nuclear power. This was stated at a briefing held here today by the official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Tsin Gan, answering a question about the possibility of Beijing joining in with international sanctions against Teheran, ITAR-TASS reports.
"China is against the proliferation of nuclear weapons, just as it is against the prospect of them appearing in Teheran", the diplomat emphasised, adding that, as an independent state, Iran had "the right to develop nuclear energy"."At the same time, we insist on the necessity for guaranteed support for the international non-proliferation regime and securing security in the region". Tsin Gan continued.
