Georgia and the United Kingdom sign memorandum of understanding in field of defense

In Tbilisi, during the meeting between the Minister of International Security Strategy of Great Britain Andrew Morrison and Georgian Defense Minister Irakli Alasania a memorandum of understanding in the field of defense was signed between the two countries.

During the meeting, they discussed issues of bilateral cooperation between the two countries. The conversation also touched upon the international mission in Afghanistan, as well as the period after the withdrawal of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) from the country.

Irakli Alasania briefed the guest on the ongoing reforms in the Defense Ministry and the prospects for Georgia's integration into Euro-Atlantic structures, Trend reports.

The Georgian minister said that the country receives great support from the UK on the issue of integration into NATO.
