11 million illegal migrants will be granted US citizenship if they pay fines, taxes and get checked, according to the bill passed by the US Senate yesterday.
$46 billion were issued to enforce the borders, security and electronic inspection of employment. The US will expand the 1,100-km barrier on the border of Mexico and dispatch 20,000 more officers to secure it.
68 senators voted for the bill and 32 against it. Senator Harry Reid noted that the border will be more secure. Senator Mitch McConnell voted against the bill, stating that it would legalize the migrants. 14 republicans approved the bill.
