Employees of Tbilisi City Hall released from custody

Tbilisi City Court today decided to release four senior employees of Tbilisi City Hall, as they have been detained with procedural violations.

On Friday night, the deputy mayor of Tbilisi David Alavidze, chairman of the Development Fund of Tbilisi David Avaliani, head of procurement of Tbilisi Alexi Tabuashvili and deputy head of the Tbilisi district of Krtsanisi, Dmitry Chkheidze, were detained on charges of embezzlement.

Tiblisi mayor Gigi Ugulava said then that the detention is yet another episode of political persecution of members of the "United National Movement".
