Russian authorities worried about mass migration from Central Asia

The number of people coming to Russia from post-Soviet republics and especially from Central Asia is excessive, the head of the Federal Migration Service, Konstantin Romodanovsky, says.

According to him, the number of migrants has increased by 37 per cent in the last three years.

He also noted that migrants coming to Russia are mainly young and uneducated people who do not speak Russian.

Romodanovsky underlined that the authorities should react to this tendency. "We should react and we will react," he said.
