Russian Ministry of Transport proposes establishing single air company

The Russian Minister of Transport, Igor Levitin, had a meeting in the Mineral Waters region, discussing transport infrastructure in the North Caucasian Federal District (NCFD) , where he proposed that transport agencies of the North Caucasus establish a single air company based in the Mineral Waters region, Interfax reports.

Levitin proposed the region's air complex transfer its property over to ‘Aeroflot’. The distance between airports in the NCFD is 100km, which is not economically profitable. The distance should be 500km, to help develop the airports.

The authorized presidential envoy to the NCFD, Alexander Khloponin, had proposed the initiative earlier.
