Professor Fikret Sadykhov of the Western University, has commented on the visit of Leonid Kozhara, OSCE chairman and Ukrainian Foreign Minister, to Azerbaijan and his statement about prioritizing the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process. The expert believes that the OSCE chairman would not make much progress in the peace process, because no conflict has ever been resolved by an OSCE head so far.
Sadykhov noted that the peacekeeping mission and attempts to encourage contacts were worth respect. But giving the process a boost from the stalemate, especially while Armenia occupies seven districts of Azerbaijan, has little chances, the official assumes.
At the same time, the professor clarified that Kozhara’s words carried no intentions of improving relations with Azerbaijan. The bilateral relations are very close and friendly.
