Kofi Annan, ex-head of the UN, wants Iran to be allowed to participate in the Geneva-2 conference for Syria, as stated at a presentation of his book Interventions: A Life in War and Peace in RIA Novosti.
He believes that the UN failed at the previous conference in June 2012.
Annan noted that Syrian opposition was disintegrated in terms of politics and military dimensions. Successful settlement of the conflict by the UNSC can only be achieved by consolidation of states, he believes.
