Adil Garibov, Director of the Institute for Radiation Problems of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, said today that the country needed to re-establish nuclear physics and train higher-skilled specialists, Trend reports.
The official believes that current nuclear staff training needs a better quality of education. Azerbaijan sends students to study in Russia or to facilities of the IAEA. The country needs its own nuclear program, he notes. The Ministry for Emergencies formed the State Agency for Regulation of Nuclear and Radiological Activities with the Izotop Center.
