Kadyrov calls for public punishment for drunken driving

Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov said at a meeting with heads of the law-enforcment agencies that society and the clergy should take part in working with the population, Yuga.ru reports, citing the president’s press-service.


The president said that drunken drivers should be shown on television and the clergy should speak with them about the sinfulness of alcoholic drinks. They should be punished severely, he said.


According to Kadyrov, 374 drunken drivers were stopped in July and 2500 drivers were stopped for breaking the speed limit.
