Investigators have stopped persecution of Vardan Oskanyan, Armenian ex-Minister of Foreign Affairs and member of the Prosperous Armenia Party in the parliament, News Armenia reports.
The official admitted that he used $250,790 of the sum donated by US philanthropist Jon Huntsman to Sivilitas, a foundation organized by Oskanyan. He paid taxes worth over $49,000 for the sum. He also transferred $1.086 million of donations by Huntsman to Sivilitas.
The ex-minister’s case was transformed into a tax evasion case.
Oskanyan lost parliamentary immunity on October 2.
