Besides Russia, Venezuela, Nicaragua and Nauru, a set of Latin American, African and Asian countries are ready to recognize the independence of South Ossetia, the President of South Ossetia Edward Kokoity said at a press-conference in Tskhinvali today, RIA Novosti reports.
Concerning his visit to Venezuela and Nicaragua in July, Kokoity said that it is an historic event that raised the authority of a ‘young state’. He said that the country agreed to expand cooperation and he expects return visits from Venezuela and Nicaragua.
Kokoity emphasized that they have already signed intergovernmental documents on economic ties, ‘including a visa-free regime’.
