Georgia failed to convince Russian Chief Sanitary Inspector Gennady Onishchenko that US bio laboratories were safe, Interfax reports.
Georgia insists that the facilities are part of the Healthcare Ministry. Its equipment and presence of military bacteriologists Russia is familiar with casts doubts about their real goals, the official goes on. Hasty and amateurish comments about laboratories coming from Georgia provokes even more suspicion, Onishchenko believes.
