Georgian president outraged at cabinet's decision to restore monument to Stalin

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili says he is outraged at the government's decision to restore a monument to Stalin in the Soviet dictator's hometown of Gori, Ekho Moskvy reports on Tuesday.

According to the president, under the rule of Stalin Georgia was occupied by the 11th army and any hopes for the country's independence were dashed. Saakashvili also says Stalin predetermined the conflicts in Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
