Israel is islamic world's "old wound," Rouhani says

Iranian President-elect Hassan Rouhani says "the Zionist regime is the Islamic world's old wound that should be removed," Ekho Moskvy reports on Friday.

Thus the moderate politician, who has previously said that he did not rule out direct talks with the United States concerning the Islamic Republic's nuclear programme, repeated the violent retorics of his predecessor Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
