Caucasus has nothing to do with recent attack on policeman, expert says

The office of the permanent representative of the Dagestani Republic in Moscow has made an official statement concerning the recent attack on a police officer in Moscow.

The policeman was attacked by a Dagestani resident on July 27 as the officer was trying to arrest the man for raping an underaged girl.

The permanent representative's office underlines that the Dagestani authorities and the people of Dagestan condemn this terrible act of violence and calls for fair and unbiased media coverage of the events.

The head of the Vestnik Kavkaza news agency, Ismail Agakishiyev, shares this position. According to him, no violence against police is excusable, but a xenophobic approach is unacceptable.

No one should judge the people of the Caucasus by such crimes, he says.
