The deputy foreign minister of Iran, Mohammad Ali Fatollakhi, has met with the secretary of the head of the Indian Foreign Ministry, Nirupama Rao, in New Delhi, where they discussed a wide range of issues, including cooperation in providing regional security, expansion of bilateral ties and the fight against the threat of a reinvigorated Taliban in Afghanistan, Trend reports, citing information agency ILNA.
They will also cooperate with Russia to prevent the Talibs from taking over power after the pullout of US forces from Afghanistan.
Fatollakhi also met the head of the Indian Foreign Ministry, Mallaiah Krishna, and discussed energy and economic ties between the two countries.
