Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has appointed Iranian ex-President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (2005-2013) as a member of the Expediency Council, RIA Novosti reports.
The Expediency Council is a consultative structure of the Supreme Authorities of Iran. It settles disagreements between the parliament and the Council of Guardians of the Constitution. It consists of 28 members and headed by ex-President Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani.
