Russia is interested in basing its vessels abroad, reports RIA-Novosti, citing the head of the Russian Navy Vladimir Vysotsky. He said Turkey was one of the countries with good port infrastructure, and the ports are situated near strategically placement zones of the Russian navy forces. Russia currently has only one foreign navy base, in Syria.
