Chechen leader gives high rating to government

Chechen Leader Ramzan Kadyrov has given his government an A-rating for its progress. He noted positive changes in the investment climate, cooperation with federal ministries and offices, other regions and foreign states. Some of the topics discussed at the mass conference he attended include measures to combat unemployment, develop education and tourism, Grozny Inform reports.

Kadyrov said that unemployment had dropped from 74% to 23% in the past 7 years. The republic plans to reduce unemployment to 5%. Construction of the Veduchi Resort will provide about 2,000 people with jobs. Kadyrov added that Ruslan Baysarov investing in the resort was offering training of staff.

Commenting on radicalism, the Chechen leader emphasized that the government will not allow young people to be tricked by false versions of Islam.

Rustam Tapayev, head of the Chechen Youth Union in Moscow, agreed with the progress achieved by the Chechen government. He noted that a special structure was formed to cooperate with the public. The expert added that the Chechen Youth Union of Moscow visited Grozny and attended lectures and round-table conferences.

Regarding extremism, Tapayev said that young people were the main target. The Ministry for Youth Affairs held meetings with religious figures and organized lectures.

The official noted that unemployment was one of the main problems of Chechnya and Caucasus as a whole. Tourism was developing actively.
