The first deputy chairman of the Spiritual Board of Muslims of the European part of Russia, Damir Mukhetdinov, said today that Muslims support the fight against illegal immigration in the country, but are in favor of support for those who come to Russia to work honestly and provide for their families
"The fact that Moscow is one of the most prosperous regions of our country with the highest salaries, a huge selection of vacancies, will always attract a large number of people, migrants, and not only from Central Asia. But I think that the state, if it wants to, if there is political will, has all the mechanisms and tools to restore order in this sphere," RIA Novosti quotes Mukhetdinov.
Mukhetdinov stressed that all sensible politicians understand that Russia needs migrant workers for successful growth of the economy. "Russia has always been a hospitable state. But we are opposed to those people who come here and regard our country as a test site where they can turn everything upside down, squeeze away all sorts of resources, leave behind a lot of problems and return to their homeland. We are against this," Mukhetdinov said.
