Gudrat Gasanguliyev, head of the Single People’s Front of Azerbaijan Party, has been registered as a candidate for president, as stated by CEC spokesman Azer Sriyev.
The list of candidates includes Ilham Aliyev, head of the Yeni Azerbaijan Party and the incumbent President of Azerbaijan, Ahmed Orundzh, head of the Azadlyg Party, Ali Aliyev, head of the Party of Citizens and Development of Azerbaijan, Fuad Aliyev, head of the Liberal Party, Ilgar Mamedov (Altay), an independent lawyer, Igbal Agazade, head of the Umid Party.
Aliyev and Orudzh were approved as candidates for president.
