Georgian president supports autocephaly of Abkhazia

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, Secretary of the Security Council Giga Bokeria and leader of the parliamentary minority David Bakradze discussed separation of the Abkhaz Church from the Georgian Orthodox Church initiated by Fathers Dorotheus and David and formation of an autocephaly supported by Constantinople Patriarch Bartholomew I, Grizinform reports.

US senators John McCain and Justin Amash and Ankara are interested in the autocephaly to block influence of Russia in Eurasia and Abkhazia. It may also serve as a means for reintegration of Georgia.
