Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is now on an official visit to Azerbaijan, has just met with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. The sides stressed the importance of successful bilateral relations.
The Russian president also underlined that trade ties between the two nations were developing rapidly. "The increase in trade turnover between our countries constituted 47 percent last year," Putin said.
President Aliyev also noted that bilateral relations are developing successfully. "Our ties are developing rapidly. We successfully cooperate in various fields," Ilham Aliyev said.
Both have stated that the Russian president's visit to Azerbaijan would contribute much to the development of the mutual ties.
