South Ossetian President Leonid Tibilov, Russian Minister for Communications Nikolai Nikiforov and South Ossetian governmental officials have attended the first stamp cancellation, dedicated to the upcoming anniversary of the republic’s anniversary marked on August 26, Res reports.
Letters with the stamp will be sent to Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.
South Ossetian Mail Chief Anatoly Khugayev demonstrated the first mail boxes and duck tape. He reminded that South Ossetian and Russian Mail Services had cooperation agreements.
Nina Fetisova, Deputy Director General of the Russian Post, said that the local peculiarity of South Ossetia was studied during restoration of its mail offices. She proposed opening mail offices in Tskhinvali, Dzau, Leningor, Tsinagar, Znaur, Dmenis.
