Today a working meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and the interim president of Dagestan Ramazan Abdulatipov took place. Results of the work of the head of the region were discussed, and Abdulatipov outlined plans for the future, the website of the Kremlin reports.
First of all, Ramazan Abdulatipov noted that one of the main tasks of the authorities of Dagestan was the elimination of the consequences of past errors. "The conclusion, if very briefly, is that Dagestan was fed but not treated, therefore it has grown quite a lot of low-quality cells. Secondly, Dagestan was fed but not developed. It is virtually impossible to find any institution, any source that would work on the development of the country. Therefore, we conclude that we need a completely new format of development," Abdulatipov said.
The interim president stressed that he would not seek help from the center for running costs. According to him, "if there are any requests, it will be the requests that are directed at ensuring the long-term development of the country."
