Turkey has withdrawn its ambassador to Egypt back to Ankara for consultations. Egypt withdrew its ambassador from Turkey earlier, RIA Novosti reports.
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan called for urgent talks for Egypt at the UNSC yesterday.
Egyptian ambassadors in some European states were summoned to local Foreign ministries to clarify the situation in Egypt.
Turkey has been criticizing the Egyptian authorities for the fall of President Mohamed Morsi on July 3. Crackdowns against Morsi supporters in Cairo on Wednesday have resulted in 638 dead.
