Turkic-speaking countries' FMs issue joint statement on Egypt

The foreign ministers of the member-states of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States (CCTS) deplore the violence that is taking place in Egypt, according to a joint statement adopted by officials at the Council's third summit held in Gabala on Friday, Trend reports.

 

"We deplore the deaths and injuries caused to people as a result of the use of force in response to the ongoing demonstrations in Egypt. We believe that the deaths of civilians is unacceptable and extend our condolences to the families of those killed and wish speedy and full recovery to the injured," the statement is quoted by Trend.

 

The foreign ministers of the Turkic-speaking countries also stress the importance of peace in Egypt and call for the restoration of security, democracy and stability in the country.
