Georgian TV station TV-9 can stop broadcasting from September if it is not sold in the coming days, local media report.
TV-9, which began broadcasting two years ago, belongs to the wife of the Prime Minister of Georgia Bidzina Ivanishvili. He had previously expressed his wish to sell or transfer the station to another investor because of the mentions of his name in connection to it. The Prime Minister also hoped that TV-9 would continue to be an independent broadcaster.
According to Georgian media, Bidzina Ivanishvili may make a statement in the next few hours in connection to the situation.
