Dismissed Karachayevsk Mayor Soltan Semyonov, suspected of unauthorized use of 19.5 million rubles in 2012, and three of his deputies have filed resignation notes, RIA Novosti reports.
Ruslan Tekeyev, Director of the Karachayevsk beer factory, has become the acting Mayor.
The Supreme Court of Karachay-Cherkessia released Semyonov. He will not be allowed to leave the city.
