The Russian Defense Ministry has denied rumours about its plans to subjugate the Ministry for Emergencies, RIA Novosti reports.
The Defense Ministry reminded that about 120,000 soldiers were helping put out fires in the central part of the country in 1972, because there were not enough fire-fighters. The ministry is helping rescue people suffering from floods in the Far East.
The rumours came from Nezavisimaya Gazeta that quoted Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu's plans to subjugate the Ministry for Emergencies. The Defense Ministry mobilized 25,000 people to help in the Far East floods, which is about 75% of all specialists involved. Only a sixth of all specialists there belong to the Ministry for Emergencies.
