Russia protests arrest of accounts of the Consulate General worth 196 million tenge in Alma Ata, RIA Novosti reports.
The sum was arrested due to doubts of the Consulate General. Toktagul Sharipov, owner of the building the Consulate General has been renting since 2005, filed a lawsuit against the mission. A fire causing damage worth 194 million tenge happened in the building on September 11, 2007.
The accounts were arrested in early August. Russia reminded that the arrest was a violation of the 1963 Vienna Convention on Consular Relations.
