The former head of the Joint Staff of the Georgian Armed Forces Giorgi Kalandadze, acquitted by the court in early August, has filed a lawsuit demanding a public apology from the Minister of Justice Thea Tsulukiani and Defense Minister Irakli Alasania.
According to Kalandadze, the two Georgian ministers spread defamatory information about his having wasted 500 thousand lari (about 10 million rubles) and the pressuring of witnesses, Gazeta.ru reports.
Giorgi Kalandadze was arrested on charges of abuse of office and false imprisonment. He was later on released on bail.
