Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili asked the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) to create no obstacle for ex-Foreign Minister Salome Zurabishvili's registering as a candidate for president. Zurabishvili will arrive in Tbilisi at the end of the week to register, his dual citizenship may become problem for the process, Trend reports.
36 bids of candidates have been filed for the presidential polls of October 27. They need to register before September 17. Candidates need to present 27,350 signatures before September 7.
