The Iranian parliament has passed a bill obliging Iran to sue the US for CIA's involvement in the coup against Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddeq in 1953, Lenta.ru reports.
167 MPs voted for the bill and 5 against it. A special commission was formed to study the coup events and present a report in half a year.
The coup resulted in restoration of monarchy of Sheikh Reza Pahlavi until 1979. The lawsuit will be filed to the International Court of Justice.
