Black Sea Silk Road Corridor launched

The Black Sea Silk Road Corridor project of the EU has been launched within the framework of the Black Sea Basin Cross Border Cooperation Programme, the EU Neighbourhood Info Center reports.

The project is to encourage economic development of areas along the Silk Road running through Armenia, Georgia, Turkey and Greece, reduce poverty, unemployment and isolation and expand ties between local communities.

Many of the mentioned problems will be solved via development of tourism and services. History, nature and cultural diversity will help accomplish the goals. The program includes seminars, education programs, presentations for local, regional and national tourism organizations, associations, authorities and residents.
