Iran releases Slovaks accused of espionage

Iran has released six out of eight Slovaks detained for espionage in May, RIA Novosti cites Robert Fico, the Prime Minister of Slovakia.

Iranian authorities said in July that investigations of photographing by the eight Slovaks and an Iranian in the Isfahan Province (where a uranium-enrichment facility is located) was ongoing. According to their friends, the Slovaks were making a documentary. Their problems started when they used mobile radios and made photos below the altitude of 2,300m.

One of the detained people said that the Slovaks had a separate cell with a TV and a kitchen. The guards treated them well, he notes.
